    [0039] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
    [0041] The trough (1) for male deer (2) of the invention comprises:
    [0042] - a food tank (3) to store it until the moment of dispensing, -a stall (4) for the male deer (2) to eat, arranged after the tank (3),
    [0043] - dispensing means that are activated to drop or guide the food from the tank (3) towards the trough (4),
    [0044] - At least one detector (5) for the presence of a flat beam (6), positioned so that the beam (6) is spanning the width of the trough (4) and at a detection height comprised above the maximum height they reach the females and below the height reached by the antlers (20) of the male deer (2), and which is associated with the dispensing means to activate them when detecting presence in its detection range. Figure 1 shows how a male deer is supplied with food (100), while in Figure 2 it is seen how food is not served in the presence of a deer (30), which is smaller.
    [0046] Preferably, the detector (5) is mounted on a height regulator (7) to be able to easily adjust the height and position of the detection beam (6) in the event of involuntary changes in position.
    [0048] Furthermore, it is preferred that the detector (5) is positioned so that the beam (6) is horizontal, since with a lower orientation it could detect animals of lower height, and with a higher orientation it could detect birds or branches.
    [0050] Ideally, the presence detector (5) comprises an active sensor (laser or ultrasound), since other passive elements such as PIR sensors work with heat detection and would not detect the antlers well, in addition to not generating in the most of the cases a sufficiently flat beam; however, the invention also encompasses the use of PIR sensors as they could work by adjusting their position carefully. The detectors (5) will have their power source, not shown, which can be shared with the dispensing means to power them as well.
